Our services Children and young people Street Play Street Play We're delighted to introduce Sam and Dominic our new Street Play Workers. Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Awards for All programme we're able to employ them to pilot a new project to deliver play sessions in the local streets. Sam and Dominic joined our team in May 2022 and will spend the first few weeks getting to know the area and meeting people. Our Street Play project has been developed in response to request from residents for more things for young people to do and in partnership with Phoenix Detached Youth Project, Shiremoor Adventure Playground and Active North Tyneside. The programme will rotate across the area delivering 3 sessions per week and staying in each street for 4 weeks before moving on to another street to make sure as many children as possible get a chance to have fun. All sorts of play activities will be available, from traditional games through to arts and crafts, dance and sports. There will also be opportunities for people to volunteer and train in play work. If you're interested in volunteering with this project please email us at [email protected] and we'll explain how you can get involved. There will be training available and all volunteers will need to undertake a DBS check.
