News Welcome Our New Wise Steps Coach, Ali Meadow Well Connected recently welcomed a new Wise Steps Coach, Ali Colthart. Ali says: “It has been a brilliant first month, getting to know participants and their different stories and ambitions. It has been an unusual time to start a new job, but I have been able to jump straight into helping people to take positive steps. Luckily the centre I work from is large enough to allow for safe social distancing so it has been a bonus to be able to meet people face to face for a chat.” Over the last month Ali has learned more about the Wise Steps project’s specialist partners and the scope of the services that are offered to people on the programme. She’s been impressed by the range of support available to people and how this helps people on the programme. A highlight of her first month has been helping a participant, who had been without white goods for some time, to access a new washing machine, cooker and fridge/freezer which will make a big difference to her daily living. This was made possible by a partnership Meadow Well Connected has with the Furniture Resource Centre in North Shields. The participant also gained her Entry Level 3 English award through Wise Steps this month so it has been positive news all round. Ali and her colleague Ian have been busy planning lots of new, fun activities to keep people connected over the coming months. They are being flexible to make sure that whatever happens, there will be practical, digital and wellbeing support for everyone on the programme throughout the winter and beyond.
