Our community centre has a fantastic new car park thanks to the help of Northeast based firms Tarmac Trading Limited and Roadline (NE) Ltd plus their partnership with Capita.

Capita, the consulting, transformation and digital services business, supported us to connect with Tarmac and Roadline to get their car park resurfaced at an affordable price.

We approached Capita to find a solution for their pot-holed and unsafe car park surface which was deteriorating rapidly due to the recent cold weather. Capita have a long-standing strategic partnership with Meadow Well Connected so were happy to introduce them to their partners Tarmac and Roadline, who are both Northeast based companies who are keen to support local communities.

The Tarmac and Roadline teams worked quickly and efficiently to get the work done, ensuring that the local roads were managed safely with minimal disruption to local residents. They also took the time to do a minor repair to the back car park at no extra cost.

The car park, which is also used by the NHS staff from the Meadow Well clinic will equally benefit from the smooth surface and clearer bay markings.

Mandi Cresswell, our Chief Officer said: “This is a brilliant example of the partnership working and using the knowledge, skills and resources of local businesses to benefit the community. Without the support from Tarmac and Roadline, we would have struggled to undertake the works which were becoming increasingly dangerous and risked someone experiencing vehicle damage or personal injury, which in turn could have been very costly for us as a small charity.

The end result is amazing and creates a safe and attractive entrance to our centre for everyone to enjoy.”

Chris Wright, General Manager North East & Cumbria for Tarmac said: “Tarmac have worked collaboratively with Capita for a number of years maintaining the highways across North Tyneside. As a business and team based in the North East, we are proud to provide support to organisations like Meadow Well Connected and the fantastic work that they undertake in the community.”

Tony O’Shea, Director for Roadline said: "We are really passionate about the North East and giving back to our communities, so we saw this as a fantastic opportunity to support a charity in the heart of North Tyneside.  A small amount of effort from us has really helped the charity achieve a safe, functional and welcoming entrance to their community space."

Capita Commercial Manager Phil Knowles said:

“We have a great partnership with Meadow Well Connected and were pleased to be able to lend a hand again. The charity explained the car park problem and asked us to help them understand their options and what the costs might be.

“We recognise that every penny counts for the charity – thankfully our contractors Tarmac Trading and Roadline North East really stepped up to the plate. Due to their generosity, the car park improvements could be completed within the available budget.”
