In 2021 we embarked on our first ever crowdfunding campaign, linked to the North of Tyne Combined Authority Crowdfund Campaign, and we're delighted to announce that we successfully reached our target of £15,961 to enable us to redevelop a neglected area of land into a community picnic area for families and local people.

The work will be starting in early 2022 in the hope that the space will be ready for use in the spring and summer.

Currently the space is very neglected as you can see from these pictures.

Our plan is to refresh the ball court area with new painted lines, painted goal-posts, replacement basketball hoops and removal of some damaged fence panels. We also plan to install some toddler play equipment and some large picnic tables. The next phase will be to create new wildlife habitats and planting to encourage bees and other insects.

We can't thank all our supporters enough for pledging, liking and sharing the campaign and we'll be bringing you regular updates on the work as it progresses.
