Connected Kids

COVID-19 UPDATE

Due to the current restrictions in place around social distancing we have had to suspend our Connected Kids Club temporarily. We will be seeking to offer activities and support to local families remotely as best we can. If you need help or support please call our helpline - 0191 3410033.

We are introducing a packed lunch offer which you can pre-order here.

Our after-school club for 8-13 year olds to encourage children to actively take part in fun activities in a safe and caring environment

OUR ACTIVITIES

These activities help kids to build social networks with peers and, as individuals, build confidence and self-esteem:

  • Growing their own fruit and vegetables in our community gardens.

  • Fundraising to enable them to plan extra trips and activities

  • Cooking for themselves and their parents and undertaking competitions like ‘Come Dine with Me’

  • Sports and dance using the centre’s multi-purpose ball courts and climbing frames

  • Homework help, digital activities, arts and crafts  and lots more centre-based fun.

OUT AND ABOUT

Our kids also get the opportunity to go on educational visits to cultural and historical places across the North East. We can also access well-subsidised fun trips to places or activities such as the cinema, climbing wall, ice-skating and bowling. We make every effort, at least annually, to run a residential trip and at times can even be found camping in the community gardens at Meadow Well Connected!

Come and have a go and see what you think!

Times and prices

We’re open Monday to Thursday 3.15 – 6.00 pm during term-time and for longer days during part of school the holidays.

For £1.50 kids can enjoy 2½ hours of fun, social interaction and learning and will have a bite to eat as well!

To support working parents, we also do a walking train directly from local primary schools. For an extra £1.50 we will collect your child from school, taking them safely directly to our centre on Waterville Road to allow you can relax and concentrate on work until collection time between 5.45 - 6.00 pm

For more information contact our Lead Play Worker Sarah McDonald on 0191 341 0033 or by email [email protected]
