Since March 20th 2020 our centre has been closed and staff were working remotely to provide support. Over recent months we have been working behind the scenes to prepare the building and our staff for safe return to work. We are currently operating reduced hours and staff are working on their plans to recommence activities.

Our IT Suite is now able to offer a limited number of appointments, the cafe will be operating a reduced menu on reduced hours and our Connected Kids Club will be offering a limited summer playscheme for 4 weeks starting on 20th July.

We have undertaken a comprehensive risk assessment of our buildings, gardens and projects to take appropriate measures to become Covid-19 Secure. When visiting the building we will ask you to wash your hands before entry, wear a face covering, maintain social distance and don't attend if you or anyone in your household has had symptoms or travelled abroad in the last 14 days.

Our team are currently providing remote support over the phone. Sue Wharton, our Specialist Alcohol Worker, can provide telephone support and will be sharing advice about keeping healthy during this period of staying at home. Follow our social media channels for more information or contact Sue on 07984 547504.

We are working with North Tyneside Council Adult Services to determine when it is safe to resume our service and will be in touch with clients in due course.

Our Wise Steps Coaches are working remotely to provide support to clients. Anyone who is currently working with Annette or Ian will be contacted by them, but if you need to speak to either of them urgently you can do so by telephone. Annette: 07388 376329 or Ian: 07388 376328. We are now able to offer face-to-face support to new clients, please contact Ian to discuss.

Our free to use I.T suite is currently offering 1 hour appointments on Monday and Wednesday from 9.30am. Please contact our main line: 0191 3410033 to book.

Our cafe seating area was offered to The Bay Foodbank as additional storage and preparation space and whilst they have now moved out we want to give the space a little face-lift before it reopens and introduced new cleaning regimes and social distancing measures

From Monday 3rd August the cafe will be open with a limited menu and new Covid-19 secure measures to keep everyone safe. We've invested in some new outdoor seating so those who prefer to eat outside can do.

We've been working hard with our garden volunteers to maintain and develop the gardens. Garden volunteers are welcomed so if you're interested please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Megan Primrose on 07387 783921 or email: [email protected].

Garden volunteers currently attend Tuesday to Thursday and we have measures in place to keep everyone safe.

We have a dedicated group on Facebook for all thing garden so please consider joining Meadow Well Connected Garden Group on Facebook. We will be posting garden updates here and will be sharing garden-related ideas.

We are working to develop a new programme of activities which can be delivered safely and in line with Covid-19 Secure protocols. Currently guidance states contacts between households should remain limited to two in indoor spaces, this reduces the number of people who are allowed in the centre, however, we're working to develop more outdoor areas where groups of up to 6 households can meet. Updates will be shared on our Facebook page.
